Team Member

Annie qualified as a Hygienist/Therapist from Charles Clifford Dental School in Sheffield in 2007 and joined Newton Abbot Dental in October 2021.

Part of her role in the team is to educate her patients in the different characteristics of Periodontal Disease and to facilitate the management and maintenance of the disease. This is achieved by establishing an oral health routine modified for patients based on their individual needs, to keep gums and teeth as healthy as they can be.

Annie started her career in Dentistry nearly 30 years ago as a dental nurse so has lots of experience of working with nervous patients and has a great understanding of how difficult a visit to the practice can be for some people. She considers one of her strengths is being able to put patients at ease and help them to overcome their fears by creating a calm environment.

As well as working in practice Annie is a Clinical Supervisor at Peninsula Dental School in Plymouth, supporting the Dental and Hygiene/Therapy students towards their working life in practice following graduation.

Outside of Dentistry Annie is also a qualified Counsellor and is currently working as a tutor for a busy Counselling training provider.
